ADHD Testing and Diagnosis
We use Creyos® cognitive testing as one component of a comprehensive ADHD assessment. Creyos is a research-informed, computerized set of tasks that measures specific areas of thinking and performance that are often impacted in ADHD, such as attention consistency, response inhibition (impulse control), working memory, processing speed, and aspects of executive functioning. The goal is not to “diagnose ADHD from a test,” but to add objective data to the clinical picture—especially when symptoms overlap with anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep problems, learning differences, or high stress.
Your results are reviewed alongside a structured clinical interview, developmental and educational history, symptom review across settings (home, school, work), functional impairment, and—when appropriate—rating scales and collateral input. This helps us determine whether DSM-5 criteria for ADHD are met, identify patterns that may support or argue against an ADHD diagnosis, and clarify alternative or co-occurring contributors that can mimic ADHD symptoms (for example: untreated anxiety, poor sleep, medication side effects, thyroid issues, or substance use).
Creyos testing can also be useful for treatment planning. It can highlight strengths and vulnerabilities that guide recommendations such as behavioral strategies, school/work accommodations, therapy targets, lifestyle interventions, and—if indicated—medication options. Testing is completed online, typically takes a short amount of time, and can be done in a quiet, distraction-minimized environment so results best reflect your baseline functioning.
